Luxury Giant Harrods have entered a last-minute bid to purchase all of Wilko’s 408 stores across the UK.
In a shock move Harrods have entered the race to obtain Wilko’s prime real estate locations, much to the dismay of Poundland and B&M.
The Daily Horace spoke to Mathew Powers, CEO of Harrods, to get an inside view of the situation.
“It’s pure brilliance, Bradford, Huddersfield, Coventry, Luton, these places are an untapped market” Powers reported. “I am brilliant” he later added.
When asked how confident he is that Harrods will win the bid he said “I’ve already had 408 signs made, what does that tell you”.
Sources have told The Daily Horace that Harrods offered a staggering £4.8 Billion for the stores, it is unclear if the offer has been accepted.
